What you’ll be doing:
The Finance Manager, Group Financial Planning & Analysis role is to be responsible for supporting the FP&A leadership team to deliver on the strategic and financial goals of the group. This will be delivered by aligning the finance function with business activity, underpinning budgets and forecasts, through to the impact of cash flow, and the variable and fixed components of the cost base over the cycle. The role involves reporting and providing insights on a regular basis to identify forecast risks and performance.
This role is a 14 month, maximum term contract (you will still have access to annual leave, sick leave and our wonderful travel benefits). The position reports into the Head of Financial Planning & Analysis and this role has 2 direct reports.
Further responsibilities include:
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of the group management accounts for Board, executive member and their leadership team discussions including supporting the executive in reviewing the financial performance of their leadership team’s departments
- Oversee the preparation and provision of group quarterly reforecasts and any recurring structured budget development, ensuring accurate and appropriate use of key business performance metrics and relevant function owner support
- Ownership of the Group’s Capital Planning Process, including management of the governance process and benefits tracking
- Ownership and oversight as the senior business partner for the Corporate executives including Finance, Legal, Risk, People, Strategy and Corporate Affairs & Sustainability.
- Support the Group Reporting Team for statutory reporting including, Impairment paper, Going Concern and CFO supporting notes
- Provision of ACCC, Financier and Shareholder Quarterly reporting
- Develop effective and influencing working relationships across all levels of management and with the wider FP&A team
- Build and validate complex business cases in connection with business transformation, ensuring to justify potential investment and quantifying benefit, in support of the company’s growth strategy
- Leadership of the Financial Planning and Analysis teams both your direct reports and the wider team
- Assess and implement the most appropriate team structure, ensuring team leaders have the right leadership skills and subject matter capability for their respective functions
- Build and maintain effective relationships within and across the business units & departments
- Proactively work with internal stakeholders across the VA Group and external stakeholders, as required
You’ll be great in this role if you have:
- CA/ CPA or equivalent qualifications
- Tertiary qualifications in Business/ Economics/Commercial
- Extensive experience in business partnering and finance support of business units or the wider Finance team
- Experience within a large, publicly listed, corporate business
- Extensive leadership experience
- Extensive experience in developing forecast models and complex business cases
- Development of KPIs and performance huddles for new business proposals
- Proven track record in improving processes and delivering against deadlines
- Experience in dealing with external stakeholders
- Ability to think strategically and implement initiatives in a way that delivers business outcomes
- Excellent communication skills and ability to provide concise accurate and professional reports and commentary
- You are Brisbane based or willing to relocate to Brisbane.
