What you'll be doing:
As a Fares & Ticketing Specialist at Virgin Australia, you'll own the delivery of the Booking & Ticketing Policy Framework which encompasses the knowledge, review and guidance of all aspects of Fares & Ticketing application via Virgin Australia systems and processes. The accurate application of Virgin Australia's Policies is of critical importance to our business and forms a key part of delivering value.
This role sits within the Commercial department reporting into the Distribution & NGR team where ticketing & fares expertise reside. You'll use your specialized knowledge to ensure our fares and ticketing systems operate effectively while supporting our commercial objectives.
You'll be great in this role if you...
- Hold a Certificate or Diploma in Business, Administration, or Travel & Tourism with Fares and Ticketing 1 and 2 qualifications (or equivalent)
- Bring 3+ years of experience in airline or travel agency commercial areas such as Revenue Management, Digital or IT, or Pricing
- Have experience with ATPCO fare filing and are skilled in Sabre PSS/GDS systems
- Can operate autonomously with strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
- Navigate ambiguity through effective scenario planning and risk management approaches
- Demonstrate well-developed stakeholder management skills across all organizational levels
- Are commercially astute with the ability to use data to drive business decisions
- Have working knowledge of industry platforms (Confluence, Jira, SharePoint) and Microsoft Office
- Understand IATA Fares & Ticketing structure and ATPCO fare distribution principles
Desirable but not essential...
- Commerce or IT tertiary degree
- Travel agency/travel management experience
- Air product distribution experience
- Experience working with internal stakeholders including partner airlines and vendors such as ATPCO/Sabre
- Relationship management skills
- Process design expertise
- Project management capabilities
- Process mapping experience with Jira
- Knowledge of airline distribution architecture
