Hello. We’re Virgin Australia. And we’re back (in a big way).
We’re the airline that’s always done things a little different. Our way. The Virgin way. For us, flying is so much more than simply taking off and landing (although we understand that is quite important). It’s about going the extra mile, in the air and on the ground, to create authentic experiences that put our guests firmly at the heart of everything we do.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cargo Network Coordinator to join the Virgin Australia team.
In this role, you will act as a central point of coordination for our cargo division by providing outstanding customer service and expert operational support.
You will work with revenue cargo customers, cargo terminal operators, and internal departments to facilitate the safe and efficient movement of cargo across the Virgin Australia network. Working within the Virgin Australia Cargo Control Centre, this role is challenging, fun and crucial to the success of our Cargo business.
In addition you will
- Track and update key cargo events using the cargo case management system
- Maintain advanced knowledge and competency in operating key cargo systems
- Proactively identify, communicate, and protect cargo critical flights
- Provide a central point of contact and support for cargo stakeholders
- Monitor weather throughout the network and implement necessary changes to the operation
- Provide operational systems support to front-line teams and escalate incidents to the respective support team as required
- Assist in communicating key schedule changes and processes where required to stakeholders and customers
What we're looking for:
- Cargo operational experience in either operations control, terminal operations or similar
- Proven ability to develop relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated capacity to work and communicate effectively with team members while under intense pressure
- Excellent problem-solving, organisational and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work autonomously and make critical decisions
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Dangerous goods knowledge and an understanding of cargo IATA regulations.
- Demonstrated understanding of airline or similar logistics operations
- Air cargo industry knowledge
