Senior User Interaction & Visual Designer (UI)

Who we’re looking for:

Join a high performing digital team as a Senior UI Designer embedded in the Velocity Frequent Flyer web squad, delivering exciting roadmap and strategy features and experiences while contributing to a growing design system. If you love working on design that impacts millions of people yearly and generating design solutions for business needs, initiatives, customer strategy outputs and beyond, while supporting UX and Product Managers to identify opportunities for experience uplift through UI, we’d love to see you jump onboard for an interview.

** This is a 12 months FTC role based in either Brisbane or Sydney. **

What you’ll be doing:
  • Support Velocity Frequent Flyer's Digital team by applying UI Design activites to translate user experiences into smooth and intuitive interactions that are visually resolved and functional.
  • Bring interaction and visual customer interface experiences to life, applying digital guidelines, utilising or contributing to a design system and user interaction patterns, delivering exceptional digital experiences.
  • Proactively present for review, justify and take on feedback for design decisions with stakeholders both within and outside digital team and department.
  • Work with Product Managers, Product Owners and UX Designers to bring digital designs to life while working closely with other designers and development teams to ensure quality and consistency are achieved across all products.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, subject matter experts, senior leaders, and marketing and studio team to deliver UI and visual design outcomes.

You’ll be great in this role if you have:

  • 4-6 years experience in commercial design (e.g. ecommerce) on agency or client/corporate side
  • Good knowledge working with a Lean UI approach.
  • Proven experience mentoring and/or leading junior and mid-weight designers
  • Minimum 1 year experience leading designers in a team or across multiple teams, preferably lean
  • Experience pushing a design agenda in a corporate environment
