What you’ll be doing:

Reporting to the Leader, Direct & Digital Marketing, the objective of the Marketing Specialist – Flight Specials role is to increase the sophistication, frequency and automation of flight specials communications through direct marketing channels.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in Direct Marketing and the ability to be hands-on in delivering and optimising email marketing campaigns and owned assets alongside them.  They will have very strong collaborative skills, as they will be dealing with multiple stakeholders (Revenue Management, Velocity, Tourism Partners, the Digital team, etc.).

Responsibilities include:

  • Articulate, socialise and iterate the strategy for bringing the V-mail and Velocity databases together to increase the sophistication, frequency and effectiveness of flight specials
  • Be the product owner for flight specials in the V-mail and Velocity direct marketing channels, as well as Velocity digital experiences
  • Collaborate with the team and key stakeholders across the business to determine the flight specials and airline loyalty offer direct marketing plan - including revenue management, retail/STO marketing, airline partnerships, advanced analytics, CXDO, Studio teams
  • Manage the backlog of flight specials enhancements and design tests to deliver always-on optimisation and personalisation for our members and subscribers
  • Collaborate with broader team/squad to move campaigns from concept into execution
  • When delivering a campaign personally:
    • For email channel, develop campaign creative using Photoshop and Dreamweaver, involving Studio only as required
    • Create campaign workflow and delivery in Adobe Campaign, engage peers for QA tasks
  • Following the pilot work, automate and maintain the base flight specials email product
  • Results are always reviewed and considered when developing the next campaign
  • Develop creative experiences that our customers will love
  • Leverage cross-functional and agile teams to initiate and develop ideas; build fellowship


You’ll be great in this role if you:

  • Experience in marketing campaign management and Direct Marketing (ideally at least 3 years Post-Grad experience)
  • HTML skilled and formal Dreamweaver (or similar) product training
  • Hands-on experience delivering and optimising email marketing campaigns and automation
  • Experience with combining multiple data sources to determine campaign success, and develop optimisations
  • Confident using Adobe Photoshop to generate assets for use in campaigns
  • Multi-variate test design, delivery and evaluation
  • Able to get wide stakeholder groups excited and committed to new ideas
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Are passionate about improving customer journeys and conversion rates
