About the Role

The objective of the Aircraft Maintenance Support Specialist is to provide support to the Maintenance Commercial leader in implementing the strategy associated with the sourcing and execution of maintenance and aircraft servicing including the work associated with induction and returning aircraft

Participation in RFP’s RFT’s and other sourcing strategies, including negotiations will be an important part of the role. The Aircraft Maintenance Support Specialist will also be required to contract manage maintenance providers to ensure outcomes meet expectations through management of risk, issues and adherence to negotiations through management of risk, issues and adherence to negotiated terms

Key Accountabilities

  • Assist in the development of sourcing strategies based on market knowledge and Engineering’s maintenance strategy.
  • Review proposed contracts, negotiate terms and manage through execution process.
  • Draft business commercial documentation (e.g. SOAP, memo, Project Requests) and administer all associated approvals (i.e.
  • Coordinate the development of IPMs for contracted organisations.
  • Management of suppliers’ tools such as Issue and Risk registers.
  • Organise and facilitate Performance review Meetings
  • Provide category specialist procurement assistance within Engineering.
  • Work with Fleet Planning to ensure aircraft lease agreements provide optimal outcomes for the business.
  • Work with Fleet Management to draft letters to Lessor seeking approval and acceptance of major configuration changes
  • Invoice review and approval.
  • Reserve drawdown support including maintenance compensation.
  • Coordinate and oversight Lessor reporting and visits
  • Be instrumental in building a strategic relationship with our aircraft lessors. Manage KRA’s, and Issues Register, including both strategic and transactional issues.
  • Oversee process improvement to manage aircraft lease contracts and drive engineering and maintenance performance through measurable data to ensure the business is obtaining full value from the leases.
  • Support Finance in developing financial budget for outsourced aircraft maintenance.

What you will need

  • An engineering graduate degree or any degree/ graduate certificate/diploma in an aviation management or related field, or
  • Trade qualified aircraft mechanic (AME or Licensed), or
  • 5 years’ experience in the CAMO of a commercial airline, specifically in a maintenance oversight role.
  • 5 years aircraft maintenance experience in a heavy and/or line maintenance environment
  • ARC issuance
  • CoA and Export CoA execution
  • Aircraft engineering and maintenance background
  • A working knowledge of Australian Civil Aviation Regulations associated with aircraft maintenance
  • Thorough understanding of aircraft maintenance concepts
