We’re on the lookout for a Business Development Manager to join our Corporate Sales team and drive growth across our mid to large market segment. Reporting to the Head of Corporate Business Development, this role plays a pivotal part in strengthening Virgin Australia’s position in the corporate aviation market through strategic acquisition, relationship management, and data‑driven commercial insights.

 

Based in Sydney, this role gives you the chance to get out from behind the desk -travelling to meet with key clients, strengthening partnerships face‑to‑face, and proudly representing Virgin Australia in the corporate market.

 

In addition, you will:

  • Identify, target, and secure new mid to large market customers within assigned verticals.
  • Build and maintain a healthy, high velocity sales pipeline to meet and exceed annual targets.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through contract negotiation and transition to partner management.
  • Establish strong, multi‑level relationships across client organisations.
  • Analyse client travel behaviours and cost savings opportunities to clearly articulate Virgin Australia’s commercial value proposition.
  • Provide valuable market intelligence and customer insights to inform strategy and product development.
  • Lead pricing discussions and contract negotiations in alignment with policy and commercial strategy.
  • Manage ongoing contract performance and compliance
  • Oversee onboarding and early-stage account performance for newly acquired corporate customers.
  • Identify performance blockers and provide solutions to maximise engagement.

 

Be to successful:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Sales or Business Development.
  • Proven experience managing bid/tender processes for mid to large corporate portfolios.
  • Strong presentation skills and experience influencing decision makers.
  • A commercially astute, data driven mindset with strong analytical capability.
  • Highly developed negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong experience in solution based selling and CRM usage.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong general systems capability.
