Reporting to the Head of PR & Social Media, you’ll be a trusted expert — leading the development of paid and organic content strategies, crafting compelling copy, overseeing vibrant community management, and providing strategic counsel to senior stakeholders. Your work will directly impact how customers connect with and choose Virgin Australia every day.
What you’ll be doing:
- Own and grow Virgin Australia’s social media presence across all major platforms
- Develop and execute paid and organic content strategies to drive brand love and commercial impact
- Lead and inspire a high-performing social media team
- Oversee community management to deliver an exceptional customer experience
- Partner with internal teams and external agencies to amplify campaigns and content
- Advise and collaborate with senior leaders to maximize ROI from social media initiatives
- Stay ahead of social media trends, continuously innovating to keep us at the forefront
You’ll be great in this role if you:
- Bring 8+ years of hands-on experience in social media and content strategy
- Have proven success building engaged audiences and delivering commercial results
- Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where no two days are the same
- Are a gifted storyteller with exceptional copywriting and editing skills
- Are a confident leader who builds strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Are deadline-driven, creative, and passionate about achieving best-in-class outcomes
- Have a deep understanding of current platforms, algorithms, and emerging trends
- Hold a degree in Communications (or a related field) and/or agency experience (preferred)
