About Virgin Australia Regional Airlines (VARA)

VARA operates out of Perth Airport and has a fleet of F100 and A320 aircraft that predominantly conduct charter operations throughout regional Western Australia. VARA has a growth strategy and has a strong focus on supporting our major clients in the resources industry - the future is exciting!

What you’ll be doing:

This role will lead the Training and Standards organisation in a dynamic environment. Reporting directly to the Head of Flight Operations, the primary responsibility will be to lead the transformation efforts, working towards the development of strategies and systems aimed at enhancing safety and efficiency outcomes for both regional and resources flying operations. Our aim is to ensure compliance with CASA’s legislative requirements for Check and Training Systems while also striving to position the division as a leader in it’s field.

You’ll be great in this role if you:

  • Have a proven track record of effective leadership in Flight Operations & Flight Training.
  • Have appropriate qualifications in flying and training operations to hold the position of Head of Training and Checking as required by CASA legislation.
  • Come with organisational change management experience
  • Have knowledge of appropriate regulatory frameworks including both Australian and applicable/comparable legislation under the FAA or EASA
  • Have excellent communication and facilitation skills
  • Have excellent teamwork skills as part of the Flight Operations Leadership Team.

The successful applicant will be required to be approved by CASA prior to commencing in the role.
