The Engineering and Aircraft Maintenance divisions play a critical role in ensuring the continuous airworthiness, reliability and configuration of the Virgin Australia aircraft fleets, whilst satisfying regulatory and company requirements.
About the role:
As a A-Category Licenced Engineer you will certify within your scope of approval for minor aircraft maintenance inspections such as Daily Checks, Service Checks, Weekly Checks, Extended Range Operations Pre-Flight Checks and simple defect rectification in accordance with the approved System of Certification.
You will report to the Senior Engineer and Maintenance Leader and be required to assist in determining defects and discrepancies, recognising and reporting unsafe conditions and certify for maintenance within the scope of your licence privileges
You will be required to participate in the delivery of quality services whilst maintaining a safe work environment for yourself and fellow workers.
To do this, you will hold an valid CASA A-Category License or B1 licence with or without type rating with experience on aircraft types maintained by Virgin Tech, have extensive industry experience in an aircraft maintenance role with the ability to display excellent analytical skills. You will also have a good working knowledge of WHSE requirements, demonstrated experience in superior customer service practices and have the ability to communicate with all levels of the engineering team:
· Certified true copy of A-Category or B1 CASA Licence
· Certified true copy of Diploma in Aeroskills, Certificate VI in Aeroskills or equivalent
· Certified true copy of any aircraft type training completed
· Demonstrated Line Maintenance experience on, A320, A330, ATR72, B737, B777
· CASR Part 145 recognised HF Initial Training
You must have at least 2 years of aircraft maintenance experience on the required aircraft types as either an AME, A-Category Licence Engineer or B1.1 LAME rated on type.
You need to be able to provide documented evidence that you actively practicing aircraft maintenance activities for a Part 145 Aircraft Maintenance Organisation. This can be a copy of current approvals issued by a Quality Manager or journal of experience.
