About the role:
This role sits within the Advanced Analytics division which is the area of the business which is responsible for tackling high impact, strategic challenges and opportunities across the Group using in-house consulting and advanced analytical expertise.
The Advanced Analytics Specialist contributes to Virgin Australia’s strategic direction, profitability and performance improvement by enhancing data availability and enabling/producing efficient intelligent reporting. Working collaboratively and cross-functionally across the business, the Advanced Analytics Specialist will focus on extracting useful information from real-world data stored in multiple and disparate systems to enable meaningful and insightful business reporting.
You will have some experience working in a top tier Consulting firm and whilst you are passionate about data, you are also able to step outside of the detail to translate the facts into meaningful insights to deliver to various stakeholders up to C-suite level. You think laterally to solve problems and love rolling up the sleeves to break problems down to the most granular level.
To be successful in this role you must have:
- Advanced Excel skills
- Ability to create various operational models
- Advanced user knowledge of analytical tools such as SAS, R, Python, Cogons etc.
- Previous experience in Advanced Analytics
- Advanced user knowledge of analytical tools such as SAS, Cognos etc.
- Exceptional level of detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor degree in Economics, Statistics, Finance or similar
