What we are doing?

Our Safety Systems Division delivers proactive engagement with leaders within Virgin Australia to facilitate all areas which have an impact on safety, risk and compliance.  Through the Safety Management System of the airline, the Division provides visibility of safety performance and risk.  Additionally, the Safety Systems Division provides safety services and specialist advice to the operating divisions to allow them to effectively manage risk and deliver improved safety outcomes.

About the role

The Safety Systems Technical Specialist is a subject matter expert responsible for maintaining and further developing Safety System’s operational software including Intelex, SharePoint and Nintex. Additionally, you will act as the primary stakeholder for all software which impacts Safety Systems.

You will work closely with multiple areas of the business and are integral to maintaining the delicate balance between compliance with Virgin Australia Safety Management Systems and flexible, user friendly software systems.

Maintaining and developing Safety System’s operational software requires you to engage with stakeholders on system functionality.

About you

Applying your high degree of problem solving and technical ability, you will identify reported faults and review system requirements, allowing you to coordinate and lead the development of identified system improvements.

To be a standout candidate, you will have a sound understanding of aviation safety management methodologies and processes. Your background in the development and management of operational software test scripts, and developing documentation, systems, polices and procedures will lead you to success.
